Sourcing & custom-made furniture

Where it’s made

If the catalogue does not fit the room, we build it. There are two ways to get the furniture you need. We can import it, and we check it before it ships. Or we can build it to your drawings in our Nairobi workshop. Either way, it all arrives on one schedule, delivered and installed by our own team.

Why we do this

Every office has something the catalogue cannot cover

A reception counter that follows a curved wall. A boardroom table longer than any importer stocks. Desks that match furniture you bought six years ago, from a supplier who has since closed. These are not unusual requests. They come up in most offices, whatever the size.

The usual answer is to change the layout to fit whatever is for sale. Our answer is to build the piece instead. About one in seven items we supply is made here in Kenya. That means you wait weeks, not months. It also means spare parts are close by, not overseas.

Two ways

Imported, or built here

Most orders use a bit of both. We will always tell you plainly which way is best for each item, and why.

Imported ranges

Furniture from factories we have worked with for years. Some is in stock, some is made to order. This is the best way when a standard size fits and you need a lot of them.

  • Checked at the factory by our own people before it ships
  • Usually takes 6–10 weeks, or straight away if in stock
  • Spare parts kept in Nairobi

Built in our workshop

Made to your drawing, here in Nairobi. This is the best way when the space is awkward, the size is unusual, or the piece has to match something you already own.

  • You get a drawing and a fixed price before we cut anything
  • Usually takes 3–5 weeks
  • Any size, finish or edge shape
  • We can repair it, or make matching pieces, years later
How a custom order works

How a custom piece gets made

You approve a drawing and a price before we cut anything. Nothing goes to the workshop until you have signed off both.

STEP 01

Tell us what the room needs

A sketch, a photo, or just a few words on WhatsApp is enough to start. If the space is awkward, we will come and measure it. We do this anywhere in Nairobi, for a small fee that covers our transport and incidental expenses.

STEP 02

Drawing and fixed price

You get a drawing with all the sizes, the material and the finish. You also get a price that will not change. This usually comes within one working day of the measure.

STEP 03

We build it in the workshop

Once you approve the drawing, we start building in Nairobi. Most items take three to five weeks. We give you the finish date at the start, not the end.

STEP 04

Delivered, assembled, installed

Our own team arrives on a date we agreed upon. If your office is in use, we work evenings and weekends. We take the packaging away with us.

A photo is enough to start

You do not need drawings or measurements to start. Send us a photo of the space, or of the furniture you want matched. We will come and measure, and do the drawing ourselves.

What we build

The pieces people ask for most

This is not a fixed catalogue. These are just the things we are asked for week after week.

Office reception counter with waiting seating

Reception counters

Curved, angled or wrapped around a pillar. Tops in solid surface or laminate. We add space for cables, and a lower section for wheelchair users where needed.

Boardroom with a long meeting table and matching chairs

Boardroom tables

Any length, in one piece or in sections so it fits through the door. Holes for power and data cables are cut where you need them, before delivery.

Executive office desk with a matching credenza in a bright corner office

Executive desks & credenzas

Matching sets in veneer, laminate or solid wood. We can also match furniture you already own.

Open-plan office with rows of screened bench workstations

Rows of workstations

Bench desks sized to your actual floor, not to a standard size. So you do not lose a seat because of a 200mm gap.

Craftsman working on a timber furniture piece in a workshop

Storage & built-in units

Walls of cupboards, rows of filing cabinets and server cabinets, built into corners and around pillars.

A furnished open-plan office in Nairobi with desks, task chairs and storage

Schools & institutions

Lab benches, library shelves and lecture seating, built to take hard daily use, and in large numbers.
